The new road design is not the solution. The design will force motorists away from town and on to the side streets. Then the cars will speed through those streets because of the delay. I agree with reducing the number of turn area in to the shopping centers. Two entrances that used to allow left turns were thirty feet apart. Only one is needed. The businesses will complain to the town and state very soon about the NEW problem. It sad that anyone was killed, but none of those crashes were due to the number of west bound lanes.

I am not a fan of the mainstream parties, I don't know Steve Levy, However I do know that Mr. Levy was the best County Supervisor that Suffolk ever had! He ran the County without his hand out nor under the table payoffs, he tried to control the out of control illegal alien problem, and he took the heat for it! Yes he was taken down from behind by the organized poilticians, but not before he did a good job! Now we have a party hack in Balone, I remember him ringing my bell , fresh out of the Marines and into politics! He even had another guy with him showing him the ropes! BLACKMAIL is a dirty word!

7% raise and he has not even picked up a pencil yet! Where do these board members get off giving a guy $259,000 to run a school system with hundreds of minions to do all the work? It is no wonder that people vote down the budget time after time , they are getting hosed by these ivory tower fools giving away the store! Couldn't they put him in the job at the same salary and see how he performs , rather than throw money at him and find out later he is a dud ? The board better polish their resume, we won't stand for these tactics in this economic downturn! COME THE 15TH., I VOTE NO !!!! NO TO WASTE, NO TO CRONYISM !

I really hope you see and respond to what I wrote yesterday. You are 100% correct when you say this man is a menace and to be honest when I read your comment I literally got sick, he did his VERY BEST to absolutely ruin my life and destroy me as a person. No one deserves the violence and abuse he put me through. It terrifiied me when I read what you wrote because it honestly couldve been written by my own mother and it made me realize that hes going to do this to as many innocent women as he wants until someone stops him. I don't know how bad it got between him and your daughter but he managed to keep me for a year and a half alone in a huge house, I've seen what he's capable of and he needs to be stopped before he does what he did to me to someones elvse's daughter.

I foresee a lot of business closing in the near future . The traffic on middle country road going west into town was backed up to lake avenue today Rt 111 was backed up due to the change to one lane. I for one am done shopping in town . There are accidents everywhere The woman that killed the little girl was high on drugs . To loud close the airports and the rifle ranges cars to fast put up more traffic lights and stop signs The St in St James now stands for stop signs ( oh by the way most people do not stop rot the new ones on lake ave and on Oak st ). If I wanted this I would have moved to Queens the birth place of the 100 watt club.I grew up here but its time to find a new sleepy little town .

This man is a menace to society and vulnerable women. He controlled my daughter for almost six months, freeloaded and demanded money for property that belonged to us, some of which he damaged on purpose (her iPad and her new cell tel). My daughter says that he terrorizes other cars with reckless driving and his driving is horrible. The man needs to be somewhere, locked away from civilization. He's dangerous and a serious risk to the health and safety to hard working, responsible people. I expect him to come after us when he's released. I fear for our lives and what this man may be capable of. I've seen him work his magic on my weak daughter and I'ver read stores online that mesh with my daughter..... his evil and controlling ways, his mind games and his disrespect for people's rights and feelings. He does truly only care about himself.

Very cool. It's great to show that people with special needs are just as special as typical people.
I just wanted to point out, that it is not politically correct to say autistic child, rather you should say child with autism. Put the person before the label. We should all be treated as human before we are treated by our label.

I (as anonymous) was there when it happened. Terrible sight to see the poor woman (a regular shopper at ShopRite) under the wheel/front fender of the SUV. I helped, with another good samaritan, divert traffic from interfering with the scene of the accident. Prayers (thanks Penny also) to her and her family. Her son had updated the store last night on her condition. A personal thank you to all the others who got her shielded from the elements and kept warm until the first responders and police/ambulance arrived. =(

This gas station always has the highest charge for gas .. and then they pull something like this with the hopes that when you use your debit card, it charges you the credit card price. I stopped buying gas here over a year ago.
